The 4th Media Arabic Webclass (Winter Term 2012/13): An Intensive Training of Speaking and Listening Comprehension Skills
Over the past decade the Arab World has witnessed the emergence of powerful transnational satellite media which lead to the formation of new public spheres with hitherto unknown opportunities for open debate on a variety of political, cultural and socio-economic topics. During the Arab Spring and it's repercussions these transnational media have played a central role in sending the spark of change from one "maidan" to another. Consequently, good command of Media Arabic is an essential prerequisite not only for researchers on Arab World related topics but also for practitioners in the field. The Munich Institute of Near and Middle Eastern Studies offers an intensive course to meet the needs of PhD students, scholars, diplomats, lawyers, etc. with a sound theoretical knowledge of Standard Arabic, but no time to follow conventional language training. In this webclass, we will improve your listening comprehension of films and TV shows. Courses are taught at three different levels by experienced teachers with strong academic background.
